An Arkansas man, Darius Kyri Walker, 43, has been sentenced to 222 months in federal prison. He was convicted for possession of over 50 grams of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm related to drug trafficking. Chief Judge Susan O. Hickey delivered the sentence at the United States District Court in Hot Springs.
Court records indicate that on July 23, 2023, Walker was stopped by officers from the Hot Springs Police Department for a traffic violation. Officers identified Walker as being on active felony parole under the supervision of the Arkansas Department of Correction. Upon further investigation, they found him carrying 61.27 grams of pure methamphetamine, five firearms, and several rounds of ammunition.
Walker entered a guilty plea on June 24, 2024. The charges included possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of a methamphetamine mixture and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.
U.S. Attorney David Clay Fowlkes announced the sentencing outcome. The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Special Investigations Division of the Hot Springs Police Department.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Bryan Achorn prosecuted Walker's case as part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation aimed at dismantling high-level criminal organizations threatening U.S. security through coordinated efforts involving multiple agencies.
