A man from Hot Springs, Arkansas, has been sentenced to 140 months in federal prison for methamphetamine trafficking. The sentencing took place under the supervision of Chief Judge Susan O. Hickey at the United States District Court in Hot Springs.

Court documents reveal that Cedric A. Mitchell, aged 37, was stopped by the Hot Springs Police Department on October 1, 2022. During the stop, officers discovered Mitchell was on parole and had an active Arkansas Search Waiver. A search revealed 551 grams of methamphetamine in his jacket pocket.

Mitchell pleaded guilty on September 13, 2024, to possession of more than five hundred grams of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

The announcement came from U.S. Attorney David Clay Fowlkes. The investigation was conducted by the Special Investigation Division of the Hot Springs Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Trent Daniels handled the prosecution for this case.
