A New Orleans man has pleaded guilty to bank robbery, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans. Clement Leach, 54, admitted his involvement in the crime on January 29, 2025. The offense took place on March 2, 2020, when Leach robbed a Chase Bank in New Orleans and obtained approximately $920.
Leach now faces a potential maximum sentence of twenty years imprisonment. In addition to the prison term, he could be fined up to $250,000 and face up to three years of supervised release following his release from prison. There is also a mandatory special assessment fee of $100.
Sentencing for Leach is set for May 7, 2025, before United States District Court Judge Sarah S. Vance.
U.S. Attorney Evans commended the efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Violent Crime Task Force and officers from the New Orleans Police Department in this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jon M. Maestri from the General Crimes Unit is overseeing the prosecution.
