Trenton Alan Cremeans, a 24-year-old resident of Seth, West Virginia, has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison for possession of prepubescent child pornography. Following his release, Cremeans will undergo 20 years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender.

Court documents reveal that on January 17, 2024, Cremeans was found with child pornography on his cell phone. Additional material was discovered in his Snapchat accounts, totaling approximately 373 images and 31 videos. These materials included depictions of prepubescent minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and some involved sadistic and masochistic abuse. Cremeans admitted to downloading these images and videos from the internet using specific search terms aimed at finding such content.

United States Attorney Will Thompson announced the sentencing while praising the investigative efforts of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security-Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). The sentence was imposed by Senior United States District Judge John T. Copenhaver, Jr., with Assistant United States Attorney Jennifer Rada Herrald prosecuting the case.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project coordinates federal, state, and local resources to locate and prosecute individuals exploiting children online and to rescue victims.
