Giovanni Pina, a 27-year-old from Brockton, has admitted guilt to several federal drug offenses in Boston's federal court. The charges include possessing with intent to distribute and distributing over 500 grams of methamphetamine, distributing methamphetamine where a minor was present, and conspiracy to distribute large quantities of fentanyl, its analogue, and cocaine. U.S. Senior District Court Judge William G. Young has set the sentencing for April 30, 2025.

Pina was implicated as a leader in a drug trafficking network operating around Massachusetts' South Shore from January to November 2021. Authorities discovered significant amounts of drugs and weapons during a search at a Weymouth stash house linked to the conspiracy.

In early 2023, Pina engaged in recorded drug transactions with an informant. These deals involved substantial quantities of methamphetamine exchanged for cash under surveillance.

The charges against Pina carry severe penalties including mandatory minimum sentences of at least ten years up to life imprisonment and fines reaching $10 million. Sentences will be determined by federal guidelines.

United States Attorney Leah B. Foley announced the guilty plea alongside Jodi Cohen from the FBI's Boston Division and Quincy Police Chief Mark Kennedy. Various local law enforcement agencies contributed to the investigation.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation aimed at dismantling high-level criminal organizations threatening the United States through coordinated efforts across multiple agencies.
