U.S. District Judge Charlene Honeywell has sentenced two individuals for their involvement in the armed robbery of a U.S. Postal Service mail carrier in Tampa, Florida. Jordan Murray, aged 20, received a sentence of nine years and six months in federal prison for armed robbery and brandishing a firearm during the crime. Jordan Brown, aged 21, was sentenced to two years and six months for aiding and abetting the theft of a postal key while a firearm was used. The court also mandated restitution of $1,531.99 to be paid to the mail carrier.

A third co-defendant, Darine Underwood, also known as "Droc," has pleaded guilty to armed robbery and brandishing a firearm related to the incident and is awaiting sentencing.

Court documents reveal that on September 5, 2023, the USPS mail carrier was delivering mail at an apartment complex in Tampa when approached by Murray and Underwood. Both were masked and gloved as they forcefully took the mail carrier's postal keys while brandishing a firearm. They fled in a vehicle driven by Brown, who was promised payment for his role in driving them to and from the scene. The plan involved selling the stolen postal keys.

The investigation into this case was conducted by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service along with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Assistant United States Attorney Ilyssa M. Spergel is prosecuting the case.
