Susan T. Lehr, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the District of Nebraska

United States Attorney Susan Lehr announced that Amy Holmdohl, a 47-year-old resident of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced on January 22, 2025, for her role in a methamphetamine drug conspiracy. The sentencing took place in federal court in Omaha, with United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher imposing a sentence of 188 months' imprisonment. There is no parole available in the federal system. Following her release from prison, Holmdohl will serve a five-year term of supervised release.

The case began on December 2, 2022, when Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agents carried out a controlled delivery operation at the Holiday Inn Express in Omaha. This action followed the discovery by a United States Postal Inspector of approximately 800 grams of methamphetamine hidden in two priority mail express packages addressed to the hotel.

An undercover Postal Inspector delivered these packages to an employee at the Holiday Inn Express. Later that day, surveillance officers observed Amy Holmdohl arriving at the hotel. She entered the lobby and collected the two packages from the front desk before being taken into custody there.

During a police interview following her arrest, Holmdohl admitted her involvement in distributing methamphetamine and acknowledged that she had arranged for the packages to be sent to her from a source of supply located in California.

The investigation was conducted by both the United States Postal Inspection Service and Drug Enforcement Administration.
