Christian Elliott, a 21-year-old from Parkersburg, has been sentenced to three years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm. The sentencing was announced by United States Attorney Will Thompson and imposed by United States District Judge Irene C. Berger.

Court documents reveal that on April 2, 2024, Elliott's residence was searched as part of his probation conditions for an offense committed in Ohio. The search uncovered several loaded firearms including a Glock model 43X 9mm pistol, a Diamondback firearms model DB-15 multi-caliber pistol, and a Glock model 29SF 10mm pistol. Additionally, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, scales, and $6,717 were found at the scene. Elliott admitted to possessing the firearms.

Elliott had previously been convicted of failing to comply with an order or signal of a police officer in Lucas County, Ohio on September 7, 2022. As such, federal law prohibits him from possessing any firearm or ammunition.

Investigators discovered Elliott's social media page featuring photos where he displayed large amounts of marijuana and cash alongside multiple firearms. He admitted to holding half a pound of marijuana in the images and stated he kept the firearms for protection while selling marijuana.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) conducted the investigation leading to this case which was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney JC MacCallum and former Assistant United States Attorney Troy D. Adams.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities. The Department launched an enhanced violent crime reduction strategy on May 26, 2021.
