Under the Vacancies Reform Act, Sue Fahami has assumed the role of Acting United States Attorney for the District of Nevada. As the chief federal law enforcement officer for this district, Fahami oversees a team of more than 100 prosecutors and staff members, operating from offices in Las Vegas and Reno.
Fahami's legal career began before her tenure with the United States Attorney’s Office in Nevada in 2001. She previously served as the elected District Attorney in White Pine County, Nevada. Her educational background includes an LL.M. from the University of San Diego School of Law obtained in 1996, a J.D. from Whittier Law School in 1995, and a B.A. from the University of Southern California earned in 1991.
The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Nevada is tasked with representing the federal government in almost all litigation involving the United States within Nevada.
