Attorney General Ken Paxton has expressed his congratulations to two of his top staff members following their appointments to the White House National Economic Council (NEC) by President Donald Trump.

Paige Willey, who was the Director of Communications for the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), will assume the role of Deputy Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Deputy Director of the NEC. During her tenure at OAG, Willey focused on border security, consumer protection, and data privacy among other strategic priorities set by Attorney General Paxton.

Ryan Baasch, who served as Associate Deputy Attorney General, will concentrate on tech policy for the NEC in his new position as Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy. Baasch was instrumental in launching a major State data privacy enforcement team and contributed significantly to several landmark legal issues within Texas OAG.

Attorney General Paxton commented on their contributions: “While at my office, Paige and Ryan served the people of Texas with distinction and delivered victory after victory in our fight against government overreach, predatory corporations, and Big Tech censorship. I have no doubt they will continue working boldly to make America great.”

He further added praise for their selection: “The work my office does has been on the cutting edge of defending our nation’s liberties and I congratulate President Trump for choosing these outstanding professionals to serve in his Administration.”
