A Mobile resident, Ti’Biasz Tithese Houston, has been sentenced to 27 months in prison for the illegal possession of a machinegun. The sentencing follows an incident in November 2023 when Mobile police responded to reports of gunfire in a residential area. Houston was found near the scene inside a parked SUV, where officers discovered marijuana and several loaded pistols with extended magazines. Among these firearms was a Glock .40 caliber pistol equipped with an illegal machinegun-conversion device known as a "Glock switch," which converts the weapon into a fully automatic firearm.

Authorities obtained and searched Houston's cell phone, uncovering evidence of his involvement in the possession and sale of Glock switches. The phone contained numerous images and videos showing Houston with pistols modified with these devices, including the one seized during his arrest. Text messages on the phone also indicated that he had been selling Glock switches for profit.

In addition to his prison term, Senior United States District Judge William H. Steele has ordered Houston to serve three years of supervised release after completing his sentence. During this period, he will undergo drug testing and treatment as well as mental health evaluation and treatment. Although no fine was imposed, Houston is required to pay $100 in special assessments.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello from the Southern District of Alabama. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with the Mobile Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Roller.

This prosecution is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities across various levels.
