Sebastian Reigle, a 24-year-old from Woodbridge, Virginia, has been sentenced to two years and six months in prison followed by three years of supervised release. The sentence was handed down for transmitting a threat in interstate commerce.

Court documents reveal that on August 2, 2021, Reigle was arrested in Texas for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and later faced a charge of sexual assault. Between October 2022 and January 2024, he sent threatening communications via voicemail and text messages to the alleged victim of the August 2021 incident.

On August 4, 2023, Reigle left a threatening voicemail while using a cell phone in Virginia. The alleged victim was located in the Southern District of West Virginia at the time. In this message, Reigle threatened to “beat” the alleged victim “worse than two years ago” and indicated that such an act would leave the individual unconscious.

United States Attorney Will Thompson announced the sentencing and praised the investigative efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The sentence was imposed by United States District Judge Joseph R. Goodwin. Assistant United States Attorney D. Keith Randolph handled prosecution duties for this case.
