The United States Attorney’s Office, with the collaboration of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security Investigations in Southern Arizona, has charged 22 individuals with offenses related to child sex abuse material since October 2023. These charges include sexual exploitation of minors through production, distribution, transportation, and possession of child pornography. Each offense is classified as a felony under federal law and requires registration as a sex offender upon release from prison.

Among the recent cases is United States v. David Garmarnik. Garmarnik was indicted on November 20, 2024, for multiple counts including Attempted Production of Child Pornography and Attempted Enticement and Coercion of a Minor. Allegations state that he used Skype to stream live shows involving child sexual abuse in the Philippines. He remains detained pending trial following a court hearing on December 18, 2024.

In another case, Nathan Dean Hinte was indicted on October 2, 2024, for Production and Distribution of Child Pornography after an investigation revealed his involvement in sending explicit images to an undercover agent posing as a mother seeking to exploit her child. Further investigations confirmed that Hinte produced these images himself. He is currently detained awaiting trial.

Baron Martin was arrested by FBI agents for producing child pornography and cyberstalking offenses linked to online groups associated with domestic terror networks known as "764" and “CVLT.” Following a January 10, 2025 hearing, Martin remains detained pending trial.

Eric Lavon Williams and Cori Williams were identified by HSI-Douglas after receiving tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about explicit images being uploaded online. Eric Williams received a sentence of 97 months for Distribution of Child Pornography followed by lifetime supervised release. Cori Williams was sentenced to three years in prison on April 17, 2024.

These cases are part of Project Safe Childhood—a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse by utilizing federal, state, and local resources to locate offenders and rescue victims.
