A Dayton man has been indicted by a federal grand jury, facing charges related to 12 armed robberies in southwest Ohio last month. Timothy Farr, aged 43, was initially arrested in December 2024 following a criminal complaint that accused him of eight robberies.
The indictment against Farr includes 24 counts: 12 for interfering with commerce through threats or violence and another 12 for using a firearm during violent crimes. The former carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison, while the latter could result in at least seven years and up to life imprisonment.
According to the indictment, Farr allegedly brandished a firearm while demanding cash and cigarettes from various local establishments such as gas stations and convenience stores. During these incidents, he reportedly wore dark clothing, gloves, and masks, including an N-95 style mask on some occasions. He is accused of using a black firearm.
The alleged robbery spree occurred on several dates throughout December 2024 at locations including:

Law enforcement identified Farr's vehicle using the Flock Safety Camera System, linking it to the robbery sites as a red Ford Taurus from 2011.
On December 16, police stopped this vehicle and found Farr inside wearing clothes matching descriptions from the robberies, along with an N-95 mask and gloves nearby; he also had a pistol.
The announcement of these charges came from Kenneth L. Parker, U.S Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio; Daryl S McCormick of ATF; Springfield Police Chief Allison Elliott; Dayton Police Chief Kamran Afzal; Green Township Police Chief James Vetter; Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge; Trotwood Police Chief Erik Wilson; and Riverside Police Chief Frank Robinson yesterday afternoon with Assistant U.S Attorney Ryan A Saunders representing this case.
"An indictment merely contains allegations," they reminded everyone involved—defendants remain innocent until proven guilty legally.
