A Church Rock man has been sentenced to 264 months in prison following his guilty plea to multiple counts of sexual abuse involving three minors. The offenses involved two victims under the age of 12 and one victim under the age of 16.
Court documents reveal that Nathaniel Luz, aged 32 and an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, engaged in sexual contact with two children between January 2014 and December 2021. In August 2022, he committed a sexual act with a third victim who was over 12 but under 16 years old.
Upon completing his prison term, Luz will face fifteen years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender.
The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Alexander M.M. Uballez and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Albuquerque Field Office.
The case was investigated by the Farmington Resident Agency of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office with assistance from the Navajo Police Department and the Navajo Department of Criminal Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brittany DuChaussee is prosecuting this case as part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
