A Box Elder man has admitted to sexually abusing a child on the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation, according to U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich.

Brian Lee Bigbow, aged 47, pleaded guilty to abusive sexual contact. He faces a potential sentence of life imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and five years to life of supervised release.

Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris presided over the proceedings. The court will determine Bigbow's sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors. Sentencing is scheduled for May 20. Until then, Bigbow remains in custody.

Court documents revealed that in April 2021, the victim, referred to as Jane Doe 1, reported the abuse to state officials. She disclosed during interviews that the abuse took place in Bigbow’s bedroom and occurred multiple times when she was under 12 years old.

The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office with investigations conducted by the FBI and Rocky Boy’s Criminal Investigators.
