Yesterday, Donaven Lee Notaro, a 24-year-old resident of Stratford, pleaded guilty to charges of child abuse in Oklahoma City. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.

Notaro faced charges detailed in a Superseding Information on December 27, 2024. According to public records, between January 1 and April 16, 2024, he willfully caused injury or harm to the health, safety, or welfare of three children under his care.

In court yesterday, Notaro admitted to these actions and entered a guilty plea to the Superseding Information. Following his plea, he was placed in the custody of the United States Marshals.

The federal jurisdiction over this case is due to Notaro's membership in the Creek Nation and the fact that the offenses occurred within Chickasaw Nation territory.

Notaro could face a life sentence in federal prison and a fine up to $5,000 at sentencing.

The investigation leading to these charges was conducted by the FBI Oklahoma City Field Office along with the Stratford Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tiffany Edgmon is handling prosecution duties for this case.

Further details can be found in public filings related to this matter.
