Edward Y. Kim, Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and Jessica S. Tisch, Commissioner of the New York City Police Department, have announced charges against Alieu Jarjou, also known as "Scally" or "Lu Scally." The indictment accuses Jarjou of racketeering conspiracy, murder in aid of racketeering, and a firearms offense related to his involvement with the "Rollin 20s" set of the Crips gang.
Jarjou is alleged to have murdered Jadon Robinson on March 9, 2021. He was transferred from New York City Department of Correction custody to federal custody and appeared in federal court in Manhattan. U.S. District Judge Edgardo Ramos is overseeing the case.
Acting U.S. Attorney Edward Y. Kim stated: “As alleged, Alieu Jarjou shot and killed Jadon Robinson on a busy Bronx street in the middle of the day. He committed this cold-blooded murder to enhance his status within the Rollin 20s Crips, a violent street gang that traffics in illegal drugs."
The indictment alleges that from January 2021 through at least January 2022, Jarjou was involved with the Rollin 20s Crips based in the Bronx. The gang is accused of engaging in various criminal activities including murders and narcotics trafficking.
Jarjou faces several charges which carry severe penalties including life imprisonment or potentially death for certain counts.
The investigation was praised by Mr. Kim for its thoroughness and was conducted by NYPD officers. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Christy Slavik and Jim Ligtenberg are leading the prosecution under the Office’s Violent and Organized Crime Unit.
It is important to note that these charges are accusations; Jarjou is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
