Glenn Raymond Breeden, a 56-year-old resident of Orlando, Florida, has been sentenced to 120 months in prison followed by a lifetime of supervised release. The sentencing took place in Salt Lake City, Utah, where U.S. District Court Judge Howard C. Nielson, Jr., presided over the case.

Breeden had pleaded guilty in June 2024 to charges of coercion and enticement as well as attempted coercion and enticement. According to court documents and statements made during his plea and sentencing hearings, Breeden traveled from Florida to Utah in January 2024. While there, he communicated via cell phone with an undercover law enforcement officer posing as the father of a child under the age of 12. Breeden expressed intentions to engage in sexual activity with the minor. Upon attempting to meet the supposed father and child at a hotel in Salt Lake City, Breeden was arrested by law enforcement officers.

The investigation was conducted by the West Valley Police Department alongside the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force. Assistant United States Attorney Joey Blanch from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah prosecuted the case.

This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide. The project seeks to utilize federal, state, and local resources for locating, apprehending, and prosecuting individuals who exploit children through the Internet while also identifying and rescuing victims.
