The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has announced the sentencing of Arlo Christopher Jordan, a 26-year-old resident of McAlester, Oklahoma. Jordan was sentenced to 27 months in prison for illegal possession of ammunition.
The case originated from an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office. On July 16, 2024, Jordan pleaded guilty to one count of Felon in Possession of Ammunition. Investigators reported that on January 11, 2024, officers found Jordan with 270 Winchester ammunition. Despite being aware of his prior conviction for a crime punishable by more than one year in prison, he possessed the ammunition.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative that unites law enforcement at all levels with communities to decrease violent crime and gun violence while enhancing neighborhood safety. On May 26, 2021, the department introduced a violent crime reduction strategy to strengthen PSN based on principles such as fostering trust within communities, supporting community-based organizations that work to prevent violence before it occurs, establishing focused enforcement priorities, and evaluating results.
Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White presided over the hearing in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Jordan will remain under the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service until he is transported to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility where he will serve a non-paroleable sentence.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Robinson represented the United States in this case.
