Pleasant Grove announces nominees for justice court judge vacancy

Pleasant Grove, Utah—The Pleasant Grove Judicial Nominating Commission has announced four nominees for a justice court judge position in Pleasant Grove, Utah. This vacancy arises following the resignation of Judge Randy Birch in March.

The nominees are Brooke Larsen, J.D., an attorney residing in Draper; Brook J. Sessions, J.D., a Justice Court Judge for Lindon City and Wasatch County and attorney residing in Heber; Corey Sherwin, J.D., an attorney residing in Alpine; and Jamie Topham, J.D., a Justice Court Judge for Grantsville and attorney residing in Grantsville.

A public comment period will be open until January 17, 2025. Once the application materials are submitted to Guy Fugal, the Mayor of Pleasant Grove, he will have 30 days to make his final selection. The selected candidate must then receive ratification from the Pleasant Grove City Council. Written comments on any of the candidates can be sent via email to James Peters, Justice Court Administrator, at jamesp@utcourts.gov.
