The Judicial Resources Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on January 17, 2025. The event will take place at 10 a.m. CST in the Supreme Court Courtroom located within the State Capitol Building in Lincoln, Nebraska.

During the meeting, the commission will receive testimony both in-person and in writing regarding items on their agenda. Members of the commission and the public have the option to attend either physically at the State Capitol or virtually via Zoom using a provided link.

Individuals interested in presenting testimony during this hearing have two options: they can appear in person at the Supreme Court Courtroom and sign in as witnesses, or they can submit written testimony ahead of time. Written submissions should be emailed to kara.nielsen@nejudicial.gov or mailed to the Judicial Resources Commission's address by January 15, 2025. All written testimonies received by this deadline will be marked as exhibits and made publicly available during the hearing.

For those requiring accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, assistance is available through a dedicated phone line. Additionally, services for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing can be accessed via the Nebraska Relay System.

The Nebraska Constitution allocates judicial power across several courts including the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, district courts, and county courts. These state courts function under administrative guidance from the Supreme Court. Apart from these constitutionally established courts, Nebraska also has separate juvenile courts in Douglas, Lancaster, and Sarpy Counties along with a statewide Workers’ Compensation Court.
