A Honduran national has been sentenced to 21 months in federal prison for illegally reentering the United States after previous deportations. The sentencing took place on December 5, 2024, in a federal court.
The individual, Marlon Pineda-Enamorado, was arrested by the Robertsdale Police Department on January 1, 2023, for first-degree arson. Following his arrest, the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations of Mobile, investigated his status. ICE officers confirmed that Pineda-Enamorado had been deported twice before and lacked legal permission to be in the country at the time of his arrest.
Pineda-Enamorado was convicted in state court for first-degree arson and received a sentence of 20 years imprisonment from the Baldwin County Circuit Court on November 11, 2024. After serving his sentence, he will be handed over to immigration officials for deportation proceedings.
U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello of the Southern District of Alabama announced the sentencing. The case was investigated by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations, along with the Robertsdale Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Kopf prosecuted the case.
