On January 9, 2025, a National Day of Mourning for President Carter, Nebraska courts and probation offices will remain open. Essential services such as court filings, hearings, and probation appointments will proceed as planned.
The Constitution of the State of Nebraska allocates judicial power among the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, district courts, and county courts. All state courts function under the administrative guidance of the Supreme Court. Besides these constitutionally established courts, Nebraska's judicial system includes separate juvenile courts in Douglas, Lancaster, and Sarpy Counties, along with a statewide Workers’ Compensation Court.
