Matthew Walker, a 26-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder while armed. The plea relates to the fatal stabbing of Jamal Greenlee, aged 23, which occurred on April 29, 2019. This announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves and Chief Pamela A. Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department.
The attack left Greenlee paralyzed and he succumbed to his injuries on November 4, 2020. Walker is scheduled for sentencing by Judge Marisa Demeo on January 10, 2025.
Earlier this year, Walker received a sentence of 50 years in prison after being found guilty in a bench trial for the first-degree murder of David Remen. This incident took place on February 14, 2019, at Trojan Labor located at 1717 Hamlin Street NE.
U.S. Attorney Graves acknowledged the efforts of the Metropolitan Police Department and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in investigating the case. He also praised Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel Seidel for prosecuting it effectively.
