A Louisville man has been sentenced to over 11 years in federal prison for his involvement in a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy. Dion Brown, 31, received a sentence of 11 years and 8 months, followed by five years of supervised release. He was charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and five counts of distribution.
The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett of the Western District of Kentucky, DEA Special Agent in Charge Jim Scott from the Louisville Field Division, Homeland Security Investigations Nashville Special Agent in Charge Rana Saoud, and Louisville Metro Police Department Chief Paul Humphreys.
Brown's co-defendants have also been sentenced. Raheem Richardson, 32, received an 11-year and 4-month sentence on October 24, 2024. His charges included conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon due to prior felony convictions.
Jamesha Hickman, Demeeko Johnson, Samuel Keene, Tyrece Clark, and Hubert Brown were also sentenced for their roles in related offenses ranging from drug distribution to firearm possession as convicted felons.
The case was investigated by the DEA, HSI, and the Louisville Metro Police Department with assistance from several local law enforcement agencies. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alicia P. Gomez prosecuted the case with support from paralegal Adela Alic.
This prosecution is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), aimed at reducing violent crime through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities.
