Global law firm Reed Smith announced today that it advised ORIX Capital Partners (ORIX) on the sale Tri-State Utilities (Tri-State) and Pipe Vision from National Underground Group, Inc., an ORIX portfolio company, to Vortex Companies, LLC (Vortex).

ORIX is a private equity firm focused on making direct equity investments in established middle-market companies throughout North America. The fund focuses on investments in the following sectors: industrials, infrastructure services, transportation, and business services.

Tri-State is a full-service trenchless infrastructure solutions provider serving the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States.

Pipe Vision offers advanced pipe cleaning and inspection services for its customer base in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States regions.

Vortex is a leading provider of advanced trenchless water and sewer technologies and provides turnkey services to cost effectively renew municipal, industrial, and commercial infrastructure.

The New York-based Reed Smith private equity team that advised ORIX included partners Chris Sheaffer and Anatoliy Rozental and associates Lowell Bourgeois, Jenna Johnston and Dylan Livingstone.
