A Florida man, Jeffrey MacEachron, was sentenced in Boston federal court for his involvement in a health care fraud scheme. The former Air Force Colonel and Inspector General at Hanscom Air Force Base received a three-month prison sentence followed by 27 months of supervised release with home confinement. He must also pay $335,098 in restitution and a $5,500 fine.
MacEachron pleaded guilty to health care fraud and aiding and abetting in July 2024. He managed PT4U, Inc., which operated physical therapy clinics in Bedford and Lexington, Massachusetts. From 2013 to 2021, he submitted fraudulent claims to insurance companies and TRICARE for services not provided. This involved altering claim forms to include unperformed units of service.
The announcement came from U.S. Attorney Joshua S. Levy along with officials from various investigative agencies including the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, the Defense Criminal Investigative Service, the FBI Boston Division, and the Insurance Fraud Bureau of Massachusetts. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys James D. Herbert and Christopher Looney.
