Chukwuemeka Okorocha, a 34-year-old resident of Jersey City, New Jersey, has admitted to committing wire fraud in connection with a real estate transaction in Hampshire County, West Virginia. According to court documents and statements made during the proceedings, Okorocha, also known as "Mecca," collaborated with a third party to impersonate a realtor. This impersonation involved sending an email to the closing agent with fraudulent instructions to transfer funds to an account controlled by Okorocha.

The closing agent, misled by the fraudulent email, transferred $332,904.37 into the specified account. Before authorities detected the fraud, Okorocha and another individual had already spent $29,440.58 of these funds.

As part of his plea agreement, Okorocha has agreed to pay restitution amounting to $29,440.58.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jarod Douglas is handling the prosecution for this case on behalf of the government. The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation leading to these charges.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert W. Trumble presided over the court proceedings.
