Baltimore, Maryland – A Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) is in effect for the Army-Navy Game at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland. This restriction designates the area as a No Drone Zone.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has established the TFR, which covers a two-nautical mile radius around the stadium and extends up to 2,000 feet above ground level. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Maryland and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Baltimore Field Office are reminding the public to comply with these restrictions. Local and federal partners include Prince George's County Police Department, Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department, Naval Criminal Investigation Service, Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division, and the United States Secret Service. Law enforcement will enforce laws related to Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), commonly known as drones.
“Drone operators need to know that we take seriously any incursion in the restricted airspace around the Army-Navy Game. Such incursions threaten the safety of those involved. We will investigate and prosecute anyone who violates the no drone zone,” stated U.S. Attorney Erek L. Barron.
"The Army-Navy game is a time-honored tradition among our nation's military, anticipated by both armed forces and football fans alike. We are committed to keeping everyone safe as they enjoy Saturday's game," said William J. DelBagno, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Baltimore Field Office. "Please be aware that no drones are allowed in or near the stadium for the safety of all participants and spectators."
The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activity. Law enforcement will monitor airways for illegal drone use and is dedicated to identifying, investigating, disrupting, and prosecuting improper or criminal drone activities in this area.
A zero-tolerance policy applies to any drone use within this FAA-designated No Drone Zone. Violators may face arrest, prosecution, fines, or imprisonment.
