Michigan man receives 70-month sentence for meth distribution

Drake D. Dodson-Williams, a 33-year-old resident of Southgate, Michigan, has been sentenced to 70 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. This sentencing was announced in Clarksburg, West Virginia.

Court documents and statements revealed that Dodson-Williams led a drug trafficking organization operating from Michigan to Harrison County, West Virginia. During a traffic stop on his vehicle, law enforcement officers seized cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and cash. His criminal history includes multiple drug convictions.

Following his prison term, Dodson-Williams will be subject to three years of supervised release.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christie Utt on behalf of the government. The investigation involved the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force funded by HIDTA; and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office.

Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the case.
