Stacey Bentley, a 53-year-old resident of Blacksburg, South Carolina, has been sentenced to over three years in federal prison. This follows her guilty plea to charges related to a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy.
Court documents revealed that Bentley was involved in a drug trafficking operation. She was apprehended while attempting to collect a package containing three kilograms of methamphetamine from a U.S. Post Office in April 2023.
United States District Judge Jacquelyn D. Austin sentenced Bentley to 40 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of court-ordered supervision. Additionally, the court imposed a forfeiture amounting to $400,000 against her.
The investigation into this case was conducted by several agencies including Homeland Security Investigations, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, and the Greenville County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jamie Schoen is handling the prosecution.
