Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation arrested a Slidell resident on December 6, 2024. Devan Matthew Pettit, aged 23 and residing on 9th Street in Slidell, was apprehended for allegedly violating LA R.S. 14:81.1 concerning the distribution of pornography involving juveniles under the age of thirteen. Pettit faces fifteen counts related to this charge.
The arrest followed a tip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The investigation involved collaboration between several agencies, including General Murrill’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Following his arrest, Pettit was taken to the St. Tammany Parish Jail where he was booked accordingly. Details regarding Pettit's bond are currently unavailable as the investigation continues.
