The Supreme Court of Georgia will recognize Paula Frederick for her 36 years of dedication to the State Bar of Georgia’s Office of the General Counsel. Chief Justice Michael P. Boggs is set to present Frederick with the Amicus Curiae award during the oral argument session on December 10, 2024. This prestigious award is given by the state's highest court to individuals who have shown exceptional service to Georgia’s legal profession and justice system.
Frederick began her career with the Bar's Office of the General Counsel in 1988 as Assistant General Counsel. She advanced to Deputy General Counsel in 1992 and later became General Counsel in 2009. Earlier this year, she announced her retirement plans, effective at the start of 2025. In her role as General Counsel, she has been responsible for interpreting ethics rules for lawyers, handling lawyer discipline cases, and providing legal advice within the organization.
Media representatives are invited to cover the award presentation. Those intending to photograph, video, or broadcast must complete an online request form. The event will also be available via live stream on the Court's website at gasupreme.us.
