Attorney General Peter F. Neronha has announced clarifications and amendments to the Hospital Conversions Act Decision from June 20, 2024. This decision initially approved a transaction for ownership change of a health care system involving Roger Williams Medical Center and Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, moving from Prospect Medical Holdings to The Centurion Foundation.
The modifications address four out of the 40 conditions in the original decision, aiming to enhance clarity and efficiency. However, these changes do not alter the core findings or most conditions set by the Attorney General's office.
"The clarifications and amendments set forth... are intended to provide clarity and promote efficiency in the execution of these Conditions," said Neronha.
The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) is also reviewing Change in Effective Control applications submitted by the applicants. This review is separate from the Hospital Conversion Act process. When hospital owners in Rhode Island seek to transfer significant ownership or control, they must submit this application to RIDOH.
Further information on these updates can be found on the Attorney General's website.
