Justice Megan K. Cavanagh and Justice Elizabeth M. Welch of the Michigan Supreme Court, along with Judge Stephen L. Borrello, Chief Judge Pro Tem of the Michigan Court of Appeals, will participate in the investiture ceremony for Randy J. Wallace as a new judge for the 2nd District of the Court of Appeals. The event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Wayne State University School of Law's Partrich Auditorium in Detroit.
The ceremony marks Wallace's formal swearing-in following his appointment by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to fill a partial term after Judge Deborah Servitto's resignation. Wallace’s term began on August 12, 2024, and will conclude on January 1, 2025.
Wallace has previously worked as a private practice attorney and served as a case evaluator at the Oakland County Circuit Court Alternate Dispute Resolution Office. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Michigan and earned his Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University School of Law.
