The Montgomery County Circuit Court Adult Drug Court is set to host a virtual graduation ceremony on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. This event will honor eight individuals who have successfully completed the court's alternative sentencing program. The initiative aims to assist offenders struggling with drug and alcohol dependence by offering a structured treatment program.
The program requires participants to achieve several milestones, including maintaining 180 consecutive days of sobriety and completing community service. Participants must also receive approval from drug court judges to graduate. Since its inception in 2004, the Montgomery County Drug Court has seen 229 graduates.
Judge John M. Maloney of the Montgomery County Circuit Court will preside over the ceremony, which marks the 29th graduation for the program. Graduates will be joined virtually by their families and friends as they celebrate this significant achievement.
The ceremony is scheduled for November 18 at 4 p.m. and will be conducted via Zoom for Government. Those interested in attending can contact the Maryland Judiciary’s Government Relations and Public Affairs Division for more information.
