Approximately 15 graduates of the Baltimore City District Court Re-Entry Project (DCREP) will be honored for completing the program on November 1, 2023. The ceremony will be led by District Court Judge Nicole Pastore, who established DCREP in 2016. The initiative aims to reduce criminal recidivism by offering defendants full-time job training and placement as part of their probation or instead of incarceration. Over 200 participants have completed the program since its inception.

Retired Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith will deliver the keynote address at the event. Smith is a two-time Super Bowl Champion with the Baltimore Ravens in 2013 and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018. He began his NFL career with the Ravens in 2011 after attending the University of Maryland and has also played for other teams including the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Carolina Panthers. In addition to his sports career, Smith is known for his philanthropic efforts through the Torrey Smith Foundation and his Level Up Leadership Academy summer camp program.

The graduates will celebrate their achievements alongside family, friends, judges, and prosecutors.
