Honorable Brynja M. Booth Justice | Maryland Judiciary Website

A fire broke out in the clerk’s office at the Circuit Court for Talbot County on December 19, 2021. The incident resulted in significant smoke and water damage affecting both the north and main wings of the courthouse. In response, an extensive clean-up operation was initiated immediately. County and state management are working together to ensure that court services remain available to the public during this period.

Virtual hearings will proceed as scheduled, while in-person hearings are temporarily relocated to the Bradley Meeting Room in the south wing of the courthouse. The courtrooms located in the main wing are expected to be operational again by January 3, 2022.

Attorneys are advised to continue filing documents through Maryland Electronic Courts (MDEC). All land records must be submitted electronically. A drop box has been installed at the courthouse for non-electronic filings. Meetings with the clerk’s office will be conducted by appointment only.
