The Montgomery County Circuit Court is set to host a virtual graduation ceremony for its Adult Drug Court program on May 19, 2021. The event will celebrate the achievements of seven individuals who have successfully completed the court-supervised alternative sentencing program.

The Adult Drug Court in Montgomery County is designed for offenders dealing with drug and alcohol dependency. Participants must meet several requirements, including maintaining 180 continuous days of sobriety, performing community service, and receiving approval from drug court judges to complete the program. The initiative is supported by collaboration between court staff, prosecutors, defense attorneys, health department officials, community organizations, and law enforcement agencies to help participants adopt healthier lifestyle choices. Since its inception in 2004, the program has seen 337 graduates.

Judge John M. Maloney and Judge Debra L. Dwyer of the Montgomery County Circuit Court will preside over the graduation ceremony. The event will take place at 4 p.m. on May 19 through a virtual platform using Zoom for Government.
