Jury selection and trial proceedings for the case of State of Maryland v. Jarrod Warren Ramos are set to begin shortly. The trial, presided over by Hon. Laura S. Ripken, will take place at the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County in Annapolis, Maryland.

The jury selection is scheduled for October 30, 31, and November 1, 2019, starting at 9 a.m., in courtrooms 4B and 4C. The trial itself will commence on November 4, 2019, at the same time in courtroom 4C with an overflow room available in courtroom 4B.

Media personnel covering the trial must adhere to the Security/Media Order issued for these proceedings. This includes restrictions on recording or broadcasting criminal proceedings as per Maryland Code, Criminal Procedure § 1-201. Photography and use of electronic devices inside the courthouse are also restricted according to Maryland Judiciary’s policy.

Seating during both jury selection and the trial will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Overflow seating will be provided if necessary, with a live closed-circuit audio-video feed available in these areas.

The clerk of the court for Anne Arundel County is responsible for maintaining official records of this case. Public documents can be accessed via kiosks located at various courthouses that have implemented Maryland Electronic Courts (MDEC), except those in Baltimore City, Montgomery County, and Prince George’s County.

Media representatives planning to cover the trial or send sketch artists should contact the Maryland Judiciary's Government Relations and Public Affairs office through email or phone for further instructions.
