Honorable Angela M. Eaves Justice | Ballotpedia

The Maryland Judiciary has issued a warning about a telephone scam involving caller ID spoofing, which seems to originate from the Baltimore County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office. The fraudulent callers manipulate caller ID information to appear as though they are calling from the clerk’s office.

Once the call is answered, these individuals demand payment for various court-related matters. The judiciary has emphasized that these calls are part of a scam and advises recipients not to provide any payment or personal information. The courts do not solicit payments or personal details over the phone or via email.

For those with concerns about potential scams, contact can be made with the Office of the Attorney General Consumer Protection Division at 410-528-8662 or toll-free at 888-743-0023. Additionally, inquiries regarding court-related issues should be directed to the district or circuit court in one's local area. Contact details for each court can be found on the Maryland Judiciary’s website under “Courts Directory.”
