The Anne Arundel County District Court is set to host the "Schools in the Court" program for local high school students. Approximately 130 students from Chesapeake, North County, Severna Park, and The Harbour School will participate in this educational event.

Judge Shaem C.P. Spencer of the Anne Arundel County District Court will preside over the program. The initiative aims to educate students about the legal and financial consequences of poor decisions. Students will hear from individuals who have been involved with the legal system due to offenses such as drunk driving, speeding, and texting while driving.

In addition to observing actual court cases, students will have an opportunity to engage in question-and-answer sessions with court personnel regarding judicial processes.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 4, at 8:30 a.m., taking place in Courtroom 1 at the Anne Arundel County District Court located at 251 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis.

For those interested in attending or seeking further information about media coverage and camera permissions, contact can be made via email at [email protected]. Paid parking is available behind the courthouse along Taylor Ave.
