Maryland Judiciary expands legal help with new center on Eastern Shore

State Supreme Court

The Maryland Judiciary is set to enhance its services for residents on the Eastern Shore with civil matters in District Court. On Friday, September 23, Chief Judge John P. Morrissey will officially inaugurate the District Court Self-Help Resource Center at the Wicomico County District Court in Salisbury.

This event marks the third walk-in center established by the Maryland Judiciary as part of its expanding network of self-help services. The first center was launched in Anne Arundel County in December 2009, followed by a second one in Prince George’s County in April 2015.

Chief Judge John P. Morrissey will preside over the opening ceremony scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Wicomico County District Court located at 201 Baptist Street, Salisbury, Maryland. The ceremony will take place on the first floor conference room, while the Self-Help Resource Center itself is situated on the second floor in Room 2248A.

Members of the media are invited to attend and can contact Kevin Kane or Terri Charles from the Office of Communications and Public Affairs for further details regarding attendance and media coverage.
