Pre-trial motions hearing set for Maryland v. Nero and Rice

State Supreme Court

A pre-trial motions hearing is scheduled for the cases of State of Maryland v. Edward Nero and State of Maryland v. Brian Rice. The hearing will address the "State’s Motion to Compel a Witness to Testify Pursuant to Section 9-123 of the Courts and Judicial Proceedings Article." Judge Barry G. Williams will preside over the proceedings.

The hearing is set for Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at 2 p.m., and will take place at the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, Courthouse East, located at 111 N. Calvert Street, Courtroom 234 in Baltimore, MD.

Media representatives are advised that limited seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, with one representative per media outlet allowed until capacity is reached. Those who registered for the Porter trial do not need to register again for this hearing. Media personnel must arrive by 12:30 p.m. to secure their seats.

Photography and videography are strictly prohibited inside the courthouse. A designated media room will be available where electronic devices may be used; however, all interviews must occur outside the courthouse premises. Additionally, Wi-Fi is not provided within the courthouse, so media representatives should bring their own connection devices.

Parking around the courthouse is restricted and will be enforced rigorously. All attending media should familiarize themselves with the Security/Media Protocol Order (Pre-trial Motions) and adhere to policies regarding cell phones and other electronic devices in court facilities.
