More than 100 high school students from Anne Arundel County will attend a court session on February 11 to learn about the consequences of offenses like drunk driving. This educational event is part of the Schools in the Court program, held at the Anne Arundel County District Court in Annapolis. The media are welcome to observe.
During their visit, students will watch real criminal court proceedings and engage with prosecutors and public defenders. They will also hear firsthand accounts from individuals who have faced life-altering outcomes due to poor decisions. Additionally, members of the Maryland State Police K-9 squad will be present for interaction.
Participants include students from Broadneck, Glen Burnie, Southern high schools, and The Harbour School. This session marks the third installment of four scheduled Schools in the Court programs for this academic year by the District Court of Maryland in Anne Arundel County.
The event is set for Thursday, February 11, 2016, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., taking place in Courtroom 1 at the Anne Arundel County District Court located at 251 Rowe Boulevard in Annapolis. Judge Shaem C.P. Spencer will oversee proceedings with approximately 120 students expected to attend.
