The Maryland Judiciary has released three new self-help videos aimed at assisting individuals who represent themselves in legal matters. These videos are available on the Judiciary's website and are designed to simplify complex legal principles and procedures.
Chief Judge Mary Ellen Barbera of the Maryland Court of Appeals stated, "The Maryland Judiciary is committed to providing equal access to justice for all of the people of Maryland." She acknowledged that not everyone has access to legal representation and expressed hope that these resources would be beneficial for self-represented litigants.
Developed by the Judiciary’s Access to Justice Department, these videos expand an existing library of legal self-help resources. Each video comes with printable tip sheets and covers topics such as understanding the law, researching legal matters, preparing for court appearances, and finding affordable legal help.
