The leaders of Harford County's courts welcomed Maryland Court of Appeals Chief Judge Mary Ellen Barbera on her visit to the local courts and facilities. The visit, which took place in Bel Air, Maryland, provided an opportunity for the chief judge to engage with court officials and staff.
Harford County District Administrative Judge Susan H. Hazlett expressed her appreciation for the visit, stating, "It’s a great opportunity to meet face-to-face with our new chief judge, show her our facilities and introduce her to our wonderful staff." She emphasized the dedication of those working behind the scenes in the courts and highlighted the productivity of the meeting.
County administrative judge William O. Carr noted that Harford County courts are upholding a longstanding tradition of judicial services. He commented on the significance of discussing various programs offered by the Circuit Court with Judge Barbera: "It was a pleasure for the judges and staff of the Circuit Court to meet with Judge Barbera and to have the opportunity to review with her the many programs that the Circuit Court offers to the people of Harford County and discuss issues related to the court system."
Chief Judge Barbera also shared her thoughts on visiting Harford County's courts. "This visit provided me with the opportunity to personally congratulate Judge Carr and Judge Hazlett on their exemplary management of their courts," she said. Highlighting her commitment since being appointed by Governor Martin O'Malley in July, she mentioned having visited half of Maryland’s courts so far.
