The Prince George's County Circuit Court will reopen to the public on Tuesday, February 24. The Circuit Court Clerk’s Office will also resume normal operations from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Upper Marlboro.

Visitors must enter through the Main Street entrance as other parts of the courthouse, including the Bourne Wing housing the District Court and sections of the Marbury Wing, remain closed.

Three jury trials are set to take place at the federal courthouse in Greenbelt due to an agreement between the circuit court and federal authorities. Child in Need of Assistance cases and family matters will be addressed in the Judiciary Services Building, while other civil, family, and criminal cases will proceed in the Duvall Wing.

Additional information can be found on Prince George’s County website for the Circuit Court.

Meanwhile, the Hyattsville location of the District Court will also open on February 24. Filings must be submitted in person at this location. Bond hearings are scheduled for 1:15 p.m., with Mental Health Court sessions at 9 a.m. at the Prince George’s County Detention Center on Tuesday through Thursday.

Cases previously scheduled during closure days in Upper Marlboro will receive new dates via U.S. mail notification.

Domestic violence petitions can be filed either at Upper Marlboro's Duvall Wing or Hyattsville District Court.

Due to an electrical outage, phone systems are currently unavailable at both courthouses. Inquiries should be directed to [email protected] with responses expected within 48 hours; urgent inquiries require visiting Hyattsville courthouse directly. Note that filings cannot be accepted via email.

Updates can be found under "Closings/Delays" on Maryland Judiciary's website.
