The Prince George's County Circuit Court and District Court have developed plans to maintain services while repairs are underway at the Upper Marlboro courthouse. The damage resulted from burst water lines.

The Circuit Court's Duvall Wing, Judiciary Services Building, and ADR unit remain accessible to the public. The Clerk’s Office operates under normal business hours, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., in Upper Marlboro. Entry is restricted to the Main Street entrance as the Bourne Wing, Marbury Wing, and Marbury expansion sections remain closed.

Three circuit court jury trials are being conducted in Greenbelt at the federal courthouse due to an agreement between the circuit court and federal court authorities. Child in Need of Assistance (CINA) cases and other family matters take place in the Circuit Court Judiciary Services Building. Other civil, family, and criminal cases are being heard in the Duvall Wing.

Updates on dockets and further information will be available on Prince George’s County website for the Circuit Court: http://www.princegeorgescountymd.gov/sites/CircuitCourt/Pages/default.aspx.

The District Court location in Upper Marlboro remains closed. Cases scheduled there during repairs will be rescheduled with notifications sent via U.S. mail. The Hyattsville District Court (4990 Rhode Island Avenue) continues operations as usual. All scheduled cases there will proceed without interruption.

Rescheduled criminal and domestic violence cases will occur at Hyattsville on February 26-27, with bond hearings from February 25-27 at 1:15 p.m. Mental health court sessions are set for 9 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday this week at Prince George’s County Detention Center.

New domestic violence petitions can be filed either at the Duvall Wing or Hyattsville location of District Court.

Telephone systems are temporarily down due to an electrical outage caused by water damage at both courthouses. For inquiries related to District Court matters, email [email protected]. Responses will be provided within 48 hours; urgent queries should be addressed in person at Hyattsville courthouse as filings cannot be submitted via email.
